Map of Life
The map of life should be laid out
Red dots should guide the way
A bright green star should show your place
All pathways cleared today
The map of life should be laid out
The pitfalls plain to see
Flashing signs alert to danger
So you can stay carefree
The map of life should be laid out
Heartache should be deterred
Signs should show the path of perils
Bad news should not be heard
The map of life should be laid out
Detours should be revealed
Which fork to take, which to avoid
Trials should cause no yield
The map of life should be laid out
You should know where you stand
The road to take an easy choice
All twists and turns be banned
The map of life should be laid out
But life has other plans
With guides or not, we make our way
The future in our hands
The map of life should be laid out
Except the lines are blurred
Rain drops fall to corrupt the page
Map damage gets incurred
Maybe it’s good no map is found
No footprints left to find
Maybe it’s better not to know
Forge pathways with our mind
With each new start, the page is blank
Tomorrow’s ours to choose
In time we paint the lines we make
Our map becomes our muse
