This poem is about the introvert's struggle with being around people. It's written by an introvert for other introverts. Sometimes you need to be left alone and "peopling" can be too much on the hard days.
Poem:
I don’t want to people today
I don’t want to come out and play
I don’t want to travel outside
I don’t want to confront the tide
I don’t want to see your outfit
I don’t want to know your secret
I don’t want to fake a nice smile
I don’t want to hang out awhile
I don’t want to give you applause
I don’t want to obey your laws
I don’t want to get too upset
I don’t want to need to forget
I don’t want to give you a ride
I don’t want to protect your pride
I don’t want to stand in your line
I don’t want to toast with red wine
I don’t want to sample your food
I don’t want to fix your bad mood
I don’t want to hear while you hum
I don’t want to know why you’re glum
Today’s too much, I cannot play
Please don’t make me people today
