The light I can’t see
What should be a dream
Negativity

My friendship is real
No matter my mood
The words may get stuck
Lost in attitude

I want to be strong
Your solid bastion
But my strength escapes
This horse no stallion

My brain betrays me
Substituting words
Painful thoughts flourish
The good flee like birds

Still I keep trying
I pray you will stay
Though this beast is me
Please don’t go away
