I really believe it is through mindfulness/meditation that we can reach a place of acceptance. Not to say happy about a extreme mood.
It's kinda like "right now I'm depressed. The thoughts I'm having right now are clearly from a depressed mind. My mood will change and along with it, these silly thoughts."
I will admit that it can be easier said than done. Certainly takes persistence.
Living with Bipolar sometimes means that we see life through a distorted filter. I simply don't see things the right way up. So choose to ignore the thoughts that come up whilst my mood is off center.
