Determined to live a fulfilling life, | read lots and attended therapy groups. I'd like to condence everything I've learned into a book, video series and a Zoom group style course. Essentially what I'd say to younger self on discharge. Given the chance. @ridingbipolar www.ridingbipolar.com

To survive this Bipolar can take every bit of energy we have. It can bring us to our knees.

This is a cruel condition that can blind us of everything good in our lives.

There are times when I go to sleep and all is well and going great in my little world. The next day I can wake up empty, blinded and suffocated.

This is without any rational reason. No change in the external world, only internally.

This experience of the world is the difference between someone being stressed out and rationally unsettled, and someone who is Bipolar.

Bipolar can often be irrational, although often triggered by stress.

I feel it takes a great deal of patience and being kind to yourself.

Sometimes that means accepting that today, I'm in a low mood, so obviously I won't be getting as much done. Whilst remembering that you can catch up on the good days.

This is a condition that liturally impairs the functioning of the mind. The ability to think things through, problem solve and be creative.

This isn't our fault or something we can just snap out of. We can of course do things to influence it. Such as grounding techniques.

This expression captures it all in my mind.

"Patience is the calm acceptance, that things can work out in a different order, to the one you had in mind"

I was once told to treat myself like someone I love. That thought has helped here and there too
